A glass corridor with a glass box on the roof of the old town hall of Benthuizen: that is the studio which the S2 architects designed for their own use.
At the front, the short front gable extents over the existing substructure. A continuous horizontal strip of window in the side facade provides a great view of the village park. The print on the glass panels provides some depth to the simple building volume. In the connecting hallway the clear glass extents past the roof construction. The minimalistic design of the new building contrasts with the stately architecture of the old building. The light colours and the amount of northern light, create a pleasant workspace within.
