Ecological living and working

In the Verde Vista master plan building blocks with offices, shops and apartments are situated along the highway and a number of islands with apartments and single-family houses are located in the hinterland on the waterfront. For the two middle plots and islands S2 architects has literally translated the green ambition in the cross section: the low, open and green residential buildings on the side of the polder gradually rise into a high closed noise barrier with offices along the highway.

The roofs have been provided with solar cells and vegetation blankets. The alternation of the best angle for the solar collector (30 degrees south) and the green vegetation (10 degrees north) creates a surprisingly varied roofscape. Due to the gradually rising cross section, all top office levels and apartments will have a view of green roof and polder landscape.
